About the Band
The Kleptoz, hailing from the vibrant music scene of West Palm Beach, FL, are a five-piece powerhouse blending the raw soul of Blues with the energy of Rock, the swagger of Boogie, and the hook-driven appeal of Pop. Their genre-bending style brings together decades of musical influence, creating a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly original.
With a focus on high-energy grooves and positive vibes, The Kleptoz are more than a band—they’re a full-on musical experience. Whether on stage or in the studio, their performances are fueled by dynamic musicianship, tight rhythms, and an authentic love for the craft. Think of them as a sonic bridge between the golden eras of rock and the modern spirit of musical experimentation.
The Kleptoz are known for their upbeat rock-blues sound, drawing inspiration from iconic bands like CCR, Tom Petty, Doors, Buffalo Springfield, Marshall Tucker, Grateful Dead, Tracy Chapman, Jr. Wells, Jimmy Reed, Bob Dylan etc. while also pushing the boundaries of their own sound and original tunes.

🎤 Gerry Axelrod (“Axel head”) – Vocals, Acoustic & Electric Guitar
The heart and soul of The Kleptoz, Gerry is a passionate singer-songwriter and troubadour whose lyricism and melodic sense drive the band’s original material and live performances. Gerry has recorded two original albums with folkways records. His storytelling adds depth and heart to the band’s signature sound.
🎵 Peter Goodgold (“Shady Pete”) – Harmonica, Flute, Percussion
A seasoned multi-instrumentalist, Peter brings both fire and finesse. With experience performing alongside legends likeMuddy Waters and Donovan, he adds soul, spice, and a touch of magic to every performance
🥁 Bobbie B (“Beat Man”) – Drums
The rhythmic backbone of the band, Bobbie lays down infectious grooves with precision and soul. Known as “Beat Man” for his impeccable timing, he keeps the energy alive with each beat.
🎸 Karl Osterman (“Noodles”) – Bass Guitar (Electric & Upright)
Karl brings deep, genre-spanning experience with roots in rock, blues, bebop, and fusion jazz. He has regularly played with Jazz Icons such as Ben Ventura and many more. His unique approach to the bass adds rich layers and unexpected textures to The Kleptoz’s arrangements.
⚡ Steve Yohan (“The Viking”) – Lead Guitar
A guitar wizard and tone craftsman, Steve designs and builds his own custom guitars and amps. Steve has the ability to bring classic hits to a new level making them even more interesting. His electrifying solos and blues-soaked riffs elevate the band’s live sound to thrilling heights.
