Thia Muilenburg\, (vocals/guitar)\, Al Johnson (vocals/guitar/harmonica)\, Nick Fallon (vocals/piano/guitar) and Tommy Strauss (hand percussion) deliver an entertaining mix of upbeat and soulful country/rock/folk classics and Laurel Canyon style music with great harmonies\, including songs by Bonnie Raitt\, Emmylou Harris\, Gram Parsons\, CSNY\, Bob Dylan\, Neil Young\, Bob Seger\, Little Feat\, Van Morrison\, Youngbloods\, Jackson Browne\, Linda Ronstadt\, the Grateful Dead and Tom Petty\, as well as Thia’s and Al’s original songs. \nThia is a singer-songwriter with a lifelong passion for not only singing\, writing songs and playing guitar\, but also the healing power of music. With a masters degree in expressive therapies\, she worked as a music therapist and educator for 20+ years. Known for her beautiful vocals & acoustic rhythm guitar\, she has been gigging both solo and with her band Soulshine since 2019. She has released songs on Spotify\, Apple Music and other platforms\, including her EP\, “Full Circle.” \nAl spent 16 years fronting national touring bands – The North Star Band and The Pheromones – releasing numerous albums along the way. More recently\, he led the So. Florida based band\, Americana Jones. Al is an accomplished singer-songwriter who has been writing and recording Americana music for over four decades\, and will be releasing a new album this year with The North Star Band\, a country rock powerhouse that toured the US in the 70’s & 80’s playing “kick-ass country”. Al has previously released 4 studio albums with the Pheromones and 3 with the NSB\, most recently a double-album reunion in 2022. Now he is delivering his distinctive Americana vocals\, guitar and harmonica with Soulshine. \nNick is a self-taught musician with a lifelong love of singing lead and harmony\, composing and playing music on both the guitar and piano. The seminal question “Where do I put my fingers to make the sounds in my head” has taken him\, by ear\, from classical to jazz with many other stops along the way. This approach\, originally on the piano\, has led to a unique “lap-guitar” playing style shared by few others (Jeff Healey being one of the most notable). A Jupiter local formerly in the duo “M & N\,” Nick is a great all around addition to the Soulshine sound. \nTommy\, a rhythm master who plays percussion / drums in Soulshine and other So. Florida bands\, brings the beat on congas and other hand percussion. He made the switch from piano to drums at age 10 and has never looked back ! After a 40 year business career in N.J. where he played in many bands\, he has retired and enjoys being part of the music community here and playing with Soulshine. \n“Soulshine: the radiant\, positive energy of the soul that shines through a person\, especially in adversity\, symbolizing inner strength\, joy\, and authenticity.” \nSoulshine is available to play private events\, performances and festivals\, and can also perform as a duo if preferred.
