Rachelle bought her first guitar on her 15th birthday, just before her mother surprised her by taking her to a Lonnie Mack and Stevie Ray Vaughan performance that same night. As a child, she studied violin and then switched to guitar. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the prestigious University of Miami School of Music. During this time Rachelle developed her unique finger-style approach to playing blues rhythm and lead guitar and was inspired when she got the chance to play with the Legendary Buddy Guy. Aside from her soulful guitar playing, she is equally known for her voice and songwriting. This American Showplace Music artist’s accomplishments include powerful performances both in the United States and Internationally, such as major festivals like Mississippi Juke Joint Festival, The King Biscuit Blues Festival, The Chicago Blues Festival, as well as the BB King Day Symposium
Joel Zoss (born February 19, 1944, Easton Pennsylvania) is an American singer, guitarist, songwriter and award-winning prose author.
Joel cut his teeth in Chicago in the 1960’s with some of the world’s greatest bluesmen and began his recording career with Arista in the 1970’s. Featuring his own songs and folk and blues classics by Americana masters Elizabeth Cotten, Lead Belly, and Big Bill Broonzy, Zoss’s unique fingerpicking style and moving vocals have entertained audiences in blues clubs, concert halls, and folk festivals throughout the US and Europe. From 2007-2009 Joel opened shows for B.B. King and Etta James in theaters across the country. He has enjoyed an international reputation as a songwriter since Bonnie Raitt recorded his “Too Long at the Fair” in 1972. His songs have been recorded by Natalie Merchant, Albert Castiglia, the UK’s Katie Melua, and many prominent artists.
